A World Of Opportunity
Timeshare Division GMAC Real Estate visited the Orange County Convention Center today for the Orlando CVB Marketing Briefing & Luncheon. Gary Sain, Orlando CVB President presented a preview of the Orlando CVB'S 2009 sales & marketing programs. Focusing on the latest trends and research we learned more about Domestic & Canadian travel, International Marketing, and Conventions & Trade Shows coming to Orlando.
In times with low consumer confidence we are positive the travel industry will continue to grow and we will continue to provide the next generation in Timeshare Resales!!
On July 16, 2008 Timeshare
On July 16, 2008 Timeshare Division GMAC had the opportunity to exhibit our marketing program through the Orlando CVB'S Tabletop Mixer at The Rosen Plaza Hotel here in Orlando, FL. With over 250 attendees, this event was extremely beneficial for our company and most importantly, our clients! Bringing the timeshare world to each individual or corporation was our main concern, in which we truly succeeded!
National Tourism Luncheon at JW Marriott Orlando
On May 22, 2008 Timeshare Division GMAC attended the National Tourism Luncheon at JW Marriott Orlando, with guest speaker Samantha Brown, Host of the Travel Channel's Passport series As Travel Channel's primary travel maven.
This luncheon was very informative and encouraging for our industry. With our economy decreasing our industry is increasing. Due to positive marketing, tourism, and convention meetings. It brings more than $29 billion a year to the Central Florida economy and employs one out of every four citizens, imagine the totals worldwide. Samantha Brown gave Orlando the nod as she recently filmed an episode of Passport to Travel that highlighted some of Orlando's traditions that will air later this summer. Samantha Brown has visited dozens of countries, hundreds of cities and countless hotels around the world. Presently, Samantha is exploring the perfect travel destinations for weekend getaways in the most recent edition to her Passport travel
series, Passport to Great Weekends. It was great listening as Samantha shared stories from her many travel experiences. Dedication, support, and a positive attitude will continue to build this industry and we thank Samantha for sharing her experiences and encouraging the crave in travel.

Thursday, March 27, 2008 Timeshare Division GMAC employees attended The Orlando CVB's March Member Luncheon with key note speaker Gerald "Solutionman" Haman who is the founder of SolutionPeople and developer of the Chicago Thinkubator. His clients refer to him as "Solutionman" because of his ability to quickly help people develop breakthrough solutions. Gerald holds the world brainstorming record for facilitating 8,000 people in a Thinkathon that generated 454,000 ideas in less than 60 minutes. He also created the world's first innovative thinking program for iPods called the PodBrainer.
Where there's inspiration, Success will surely follow.
German Market Forum
The German market forum was a great experience and very informative in regards to the german travel industry. Germany being the third largest tourism country it makes sense that the Orlando bureau is targeting this country to say YES to Orlando. In addition, they are also working hard to try to get other huge countries involved such as China and Russia just to name a few. Last year the international travel percantage was 5% they are trying to increase it this year to 10% or even 15%.
German Market Forum Follow-Up
The OVB E-Newsletter followed-up with great information resulting from the German Market Forum:
A total of 120 CVB members attended the recent German Market Forum held Feb. 19 at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. After a briefing on German visitation and travel trends by the CVB's Central European representative, Rukhsana Timmis, attendees learned about the latest updates from one of the area's newest community partners, Lufthansa German Airlines. Benedikt Schneider, regional sales manager for Lufthansa, shared the good news that inbound flights to Orlando from Frankfurt were showing strong load factors, but reinforced the need for a continued focus on growing the destination's outbound business to Germany.
The program concluded with comments by Per Illian and Erwin Dreiser, representatives from Germany's leading producer of travel to Orlando, DERTOUR, who shared an upcoming opportunity for Orlando to serve as host destination for their annual travel agent destination training program the DERTOUR Reiseakademie. The CVB is currently working to secure a package to host the program in fall 2009.
As evidenced by the growth of visitation from Germany to the U.S., Orlando is poised to increase its share of German visitors. During Jan.-Nov. 2007, the United States experienced a total of 1.4 million visitors, an increase of 9.1 percent from the same time period in 2006. Final 2007 numbers will be available from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Travel and Tourism Industries by mid-year. Expenditures by Germans are higher than all other overseas visitors to the destination as their holidays to Orlando are typically part of an overall Florida program that also includes a stay at a beach. For more than 10 years, the St. Petersburg/Clearwater CVB has been a strategic marketing partner of the Orlando CVB in Germany.
Las Vegas Experience 2008
Executives visited Las Vegas February 12-14, 2008 for the annual national GMAC Real Estate conference. Networking with over 1500 GMAC strategic partners generating referral possibilities. The two day event was hosted at the Wynn located in the heart of Las Vegas. We congratulate Timeshare Resales USA, our preferred broker, for the "Top Company Award" 2007.
Timeshare Division GMAC Real Estate spoke with executives from Portugal and Canada sharing our experiences in the timeshare resale and rental international markets. Key note speakers included Jeffrey Gitomer, Charlie Plumb, and Christopher Gardner who is best known for his autobiography "The Pursuit of Happyness" which was adapted into a major motion picture starring Will Smith.
We are all looking forward to Experience 2009 and the referral opportunities to come.
